Exhibition Self Published Catalogues

BFA THESIS EXHIBITION PORTFOLIO CATALOGUES Studio & Photography majors Cazenovia College Each of you will be creating your own exhibition catalogues to accompany your exhibition. The catalogues will contain  photographic images of your creative work, may include your thesis exhibition installation, may include detail shots, will include your artist statement, will include your contact information (outside email account & website), may include a specific series outside what you will exhibiting,  and may include excerpts from your Capstone research paper. You  need to familiarize yourselves with various self-publishing websites that are available to you. Lulu.com or Blurb.com (I strongly recommend). You can check out catalogues created from SPRING 2012.  Familiarize yourselves with each printing company’s digital requirements and the array of book product designs they have.   I have a number as examples for you to look at....

Here are a few suggestions....  1.  Be honest with yourself.   Before you write a word, take some time to just think about you and your creative work.  You need to understand what it is that you are trying to achieve, before you attempt to explain it to anyone else. Ask yourself what you're doing in this recent body of work. What does your art express? What makes your creative work unique? Ask yourself why you're doing it. What emotions or ideas are you trying to convey?  Ask yourself how you're doing it. What do you draw inspiration from? What tools and materials do you use?
